Description

Mark Stevens discusses his time as a law student at St. Mary’s University School of Law as well as his early legal career as a criminal defense attorney. He explains how he helped create the Criminal Justice Clinic and details memorable cases from his time as a supervising attorney there. Mark also discusses his teaching philosophy and how the clinic works with the community.

Biography

Mark Stevens of the Law Offices of Mark Stevens is a criminal defense attorney practicing in San Antonio, Texas. In 1979, he received his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law, and later, in the 1990s, began teaching at St. Mary’s. Stevens co-designed the Criminal Justice Clinic at the law school before stepping back to focus on his private practice. He continues to mentor law students in the Criminal Justice Clinic at St. Mary’s University School of Law.
