Description

Volume 7, Issue 15 of The Rattler covers campus events, religious observances, and athletics at St. Mary’s. The freshman class hosted a well-attended debate and “open house” on the evening of May 4. The issue notes that sports editor Charley Solcher is recovering from a severe case of pneumonia. The Senior Sodality continues its active presence on campus, while the San Antonio Knights of Columbus presented the college with a new flag, to be celebrated with a ceremony scheduled for May 9. St. Mary’s also participated in the annual Battle of Flowers Parade with a carefully designed float. Religious life is reflected in articles on Ascension Day and the Feast of St. Robert, celebrated on April 29. Athletic coverage includes a roster photograph of the baseball team with an accompanying article, as well as notes on the third division field day.
