About This Journal
In recent years, the St. Mary’s Law Journal has recruited the highest quality professors, attorneys, and judges to contribute to the Journal‘s former symposium and annual fourth issue, both of which have been dedicated to the topics of legal malpractice, ethics, and professional responsibility. Throughout this experience, our editors and readers have witnessed an increasing need for legal scholarship in each of these areas. Malpractice claims are on the rise, novel ethical issues are created with new technology, and the public continues to question the integrity of the legal community. Now, more than ever, the fields of legal malpractice and professional responsibility deserve a scholastic niche set aside solely for the purpose of legal analysis and comment on these topics.
Thus, the Editorial Board of the St. Mary’s Law Journal now produces the St. Mary’s Journal on Legal Malpractice & Ethics. We can think of no better service to the legal community than to provide strong legal scholarship on the issues of legal malpractice, ethics, and professional responsibility. Moreover, this new journal stays true to our mission of providing practical, relevant scholarship to the legal community. It is our hope that this publication will assist the bar in innovating new ways to serve our clients in an ethical, moral way.
The St. Mary’s Journal on Legal Malpractice & Ethics is produced by the Editorial Board of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. The Editorial Board annually produces four issues of the St. Mary’s Law Journal and two issues of the St. Mary’s Journal on Legal Malpractice & Ethics. The Editorial Board welcomes your comments and ideas for the improvement of this journal. It is only with the support of the legal community, the University, and the State that this new journal can realize its full potential.
