The San José-Lonergan Chair in Catholic Philosophy is home to various programs that extend to faculty and administration, to students, and to the wider community beyond campus. One of the programs is the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT) seminar on Interiority or consciousness. This is a three-tiered program for faculty, administration, and professional staff that follows the “transcendental method” set out by Bernard Lonergan. It invites participants to self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-appropriation as persons, professors, and professionals. By the end of the third tier, participants creatively work out a plan to apply Lonergan’s transcendental method to their own work in the classroom, or teaching, or to any other area of responsibility they may have. The different ATMs are posted here, and it is anticipated that the list of ATMs will grow as time goes by.
