Volume 8, Issue 2 of The Rattler highlights student life, campus organizations, and athletics at St. Mary’s. The issue features a team photograph of the football squad and remarks on the strong school spirit present on campus. Religious observances are noted with an article on the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, celebrated on October 2. Academic and extracurricular life is reflected in the formation of a literary and debating society by the fourth-year high school students of the preparatory department, as well as the addition of new equipment to the drawing room and an increase in student enrollment. Student organizations are active, with the Rattler Club preparing to begin its work, seniors electing class officers, and the first meeting of the College Sodality of the Blessed Virgin being held. Musical life is represented by a promising performance from the jazz orchestra. The newly organized Hot Time Club is also noted for promoting enthusiasm and support for St. Mary’s athletic teams. Athletic coverage includes a photograph of the football team and a report on the Rattlers’ loss in their season opener.
