Sandra Garza, a student at St. Mary's University and member of the President's Peace Commission, hosts session. The Alice Franzke Feminist Award is presented to Sister Ann Semel, before Ms. Garza introduces the panel. The speakers for this panel discussion are Dr. Gloria Rodríguez, the Executive Director of AVANCE; and Captain Olga Ochoa Simons, of the U.S. Air Force and graduate of St. Mary's University. Yolanda Arellano, candidate for City Council, District 7, speaks briefly about the importance of gatherings like this one. A question and answer period concludes this session. Presented as part of the President's Peace Commission spring 1993 program, "Quienes Somos? Who Are We? Latinos in the U.S. Today."
