Volume 8, Issue 14 of The Rattler reports on campus leadership, institutional recognition, and events connected to the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Society of Mary in San Antonio. Charley Solcher was elected editor-in-chief of the paper for the upcoming school year. Coverage of the Jubilee includes a sermon delivered by Bishop Byrne reflecting on the achievements of the Society of Mary and its founder, Father Chaminade, along with a list of distinguished visitors attending the three-day celebration. The issue also discusses the St. Mary’s College Building and Extension Fund and announces that St. Mary’s received a Senior Class “A” rating from the Association of Texas Colleges. Additional items include baseball coverage, including the Rattlers’ opening loss to the Bobcats, and a note of thanks from the Senior Class to the Sophomore Class for hosting a dance in their honor on April 29.
